 ADULT COMMUNITIES

8:00 AM  -  CHAPEL                                                                                               Led by Gary Zak                                                                                                    1st Timothy

This is the first of two inspired letters Paul wrote to his beloved son in the faith.  Timothy was Paul's disciple, friend, and co-laborer.  This book was most likely penned by the apostle, after Paul's release from his first Roman imprisonment.  Paul often sent Timothy to churches as his representative, and 1 Timothy finds him serving as pastor of the church at Ephesus.  This practical letter contains pastoral instruction to Timothy regarding problems such as false doctrine, disorder in worship, the need for qualified leaders, and materialism.  It also expresses important theological truths, such as the proper function of the law, salvation, the attributes of God, the Fall, the person of Christ, and the second coming of Christ.

9:00 AM - ROOM # 101                                                                                              Led by Stan Stockton                              GENESIS

Genesis is foundational to our understanding of God's intent to establish His rule over creation.  Most of the emphasis given to Genesis today concerns the origin of the cosmos and mankind.  But, what is the primary message of Genesis?  According to Bruce Waltke when we understand the message of Genesis we will see that God began the creation to communicate and establish His sovereign government and rule over creation through a regent whom He would put upon the throne.  Genesis is the "beginning" of the redemptive story of God creating a nation and establishing a ruler over the whole earth forever.  A ruler after His own image.
